Best Italian Hoagie in the OC!
Fast service, great sandwiches. Highly recommend it. Don't tell my wife but I am becoming a regular -

Soo, apparently I've never written a review here before, but my Swarm/Foursquare says I've been here before. Well, no Yelp review = that I don't recall, so here I am giving my official Yelp Elite stamp of approval!
Backstory: I lived in Philadelphia for a couple years in my youth, and I can tell you this: I ate a Philly Cheesesteak nearly every day, or twice a day even. Any and All of the shops could make it, and they all made it taste the same. Some offered some tasty dipping sauces - ranch, buffalo, etc, but a regular Cheesesteak was unbeatable.
I'm very protective of having a good cheesesteak, especially if they claim it's "just like in Philly". What's so hard to mess up? Bread, Meat and Cheese? Bread is the key here. And Philly's Best knows that too. If you don't have the right bread, then it's just blah.
I can assure you, 1,000,000% that Philly's Best is exactly that. Aside from their own story of how they came to be, the recipe and how the employees make it to this day is exactly how they'd be if you flew over to Philly right this minute and walked into any random diner or shop off the streets (don't go in the airport like seriously?) and ordered one there. You wouldn't know the difference. -

The food was pretty darn good, never had a Philly that I actually liked and the fries where nice and hot. Bathroom was clean but no baby changing station but there was plenty of high chairs. Dining area was clean and there was plenty of parking spaces. Register clerk was nice and friendly.

First time here
Our boys and I came here after a nice day at the Reptile Zoo. Nothing gets your appetite worked up more than seeing a lizard devour a mouse, and so we came here.
Pros:
-friendly staff
-condiment station (briny pickles and peppers)
-decent seating
-clean
Cons:
-short on cooks, there was 1 waitress and 1 cook for the lunch rush, it was taking forever maybe 20 minute wait at our seat (not ideal with starving kids)
-they fried up the fries super early and they just sat there at the counter while we were waiting for the other items. I am sure that this would be a good place if the food all together came out at the same time and while hot.
If you have ample time and you aren't in any rush, this wouldn't bother you. -

Hole in the wall joint in a strip mall in Huntington Beach. Varied menu featuring the prized Philly beef, Philly chicken, with grilled onions or mushrooms or peppers or pizza sauce. These things are huge and on the Philadelphia famous Amorosa rolls. We had to split one. They have a pepper and pickles bar - dill pickles were delicious and the peppers were a combo of cherry peppers(tangy and hot -yummm!!). Chicken Philly was seasoned well, tons of white American cheese (yeah no cheez whiz here) yum. They also have other sandwiches and burgers. Counter service was friendly and nice, patio outside for dining too. Plenty of parking, it's in a strip mall.
